Residential Roof Replacement with Ventilation Upgrade in Carrollton, TX

A two-story homeowner in Carrollton, TX needed a full roof replacement and improved attic airflow. This was an out-of-pocket retail project, and the agreement was signed on Christmas Day, demonstrating Firefighter Roofing’s commitment to being there when homeowners need us. The scope included retiring the ridge vent and installing three roof turbines, followed by a new shingle system in IKO Nordic Summit Gray.

Project At-a-Glance

• Roof size: approx. 35 squares (≈ 3,500 sq ft)
• Shingle: IKO Nordic, Summit Gray
• Payment: Out-of-pocket retail (no insurer)
• City: Carrollton, TX

Challenge: Replace an aging roof and improve airflow on a steep, two-story home

The 8/12 pitch and two-story height required careful staging and safety planning. The homeowner also wanted more effective attic ventilation to reduce heat buildup and help the new roofing system perform at its best. Timing mattered, and signing on Christmas Day underscored the need for a responsive partner who could mobilize quickly without compromising quality.

Solution: A one-day tear-off, ventilation upgrade, and premium shingle install

We coordinated materials and crew for a same-day tear-off and install, then transitioned the home from ridge venting to three balanced roof turbines to enhance airflow. The IKO Nordic shingle in Summit Gray provided an attractive, impact-resistant finish with crisp curb appeal for this Carrollton residence.

• Site protection, property walkthrough, and safety setup for a two-story, 8/12 pitch roof
• Full tear-off of existing roofing and removal of ridge vent components
• Installation of three roof turbines to increase attic ventilation and promote consistent airflow
• Underlayment, flashing, and penetrations detailed to manufacturer-aligned best practices
• Installation of IKO Nordic shingles in Summit Gray with uniform courses and clean ridge detailing
• Magnet sweep, debris haul-off, and final quality check completed the same day

Result: Better ventilation, durable protection, and a clean new look—delivered fast

The upgraded ventilation helps the attic breathe, supporting shingle longevity and helping regulate attic temperatures. The IKO Nordic Summit Gray finish refreshed the home’s curb appeal while providing rugged protection against Texas weather. Most importantly, the project was completed in a single day, giving the homeowner peace of mind and a roof they can trust—made possible by a team willing to earn their business on Christmas Day in Carrollton, TX.
